From left to right: Kotess, Miku Zatsune, Emerald Nelfina. Best known as the TRIFORCE.

I have to say this is the most work I ever put in such little time. I honestly never want to do it again. This was for PSO-World.com's Thanks Festa Contest.
Here are four shots of WIPs I happened to capture.
I was thinking of the idea for awhile and then put whatever I had on paper. I originally did not want Kotess upside-down, but the poses would look better with it. I cleaned up the line work for all except Miku. I then went to sleep around 6AM after exhausting myself.
I took the day off at work and began working at 11am. I cleaned up all the line work and did any fixes that were necessary. I immediately began flat coloring, and didn't finish until about 2:30PM.
I began drawing the missing weapons and armor designs on the characters with my mouse. Worrying about the time, I wasn't sure how to use them, but I figured out my own method quickly enough.
It was around 6PM when I began finishing all lighting effects so I could determine my source of light direction. I couldn't think of a good background, so came up with something that sorta looks like my website ... unfortunately. I began shading around 6:45 and that's where I started with Emerald.
When I finished Emerald, I was beginning to worry about my time. I estimated my work and predicted finishing around 10PM. As you can see, I finished each character roughly per hour. I made any final touch ups and had to type a proper story for my characters. I turned in my entry at 10:30pm and was done for the night!
I didn't eat, leave my room, or took any breaks from 11am until 11:30pm. I double-checked my work and saw that was the best I could do before the time was up. During the time, I experienced a lot of fatigue, mostly in my hands (of course). Sweating, shaking, and aching throughout the last few hours, I almost felt like giving up. As you can see, I didn't.
It's as good as it gets and I hope that I win at least something. If not, it's okay because I know I worked hard and I'm satisfied with my extreme last minute renditions.
Back to Enevalia drawings!

This time she doesn't look so happy.

Annarias fighting a dragon once more. What else can I say? XD
This is heavily influenced by one of my favorite pictures in the Guilty Gear complete works art book. There's a 2-page spread of Sol Badguy holding off a huge creature with his right hand (ripping out it's tooth) and holding his sword behind him with his left. The poses aren't identical at all, but the concept is pretty close.
Anyway, the foreshortening didn't turn out as good as I wanted it, but the pose was more fluid than I expected (which is good). I tried a new technique where you try to use two curved lines to create a strong and dynamic pose, which seemed to work well here I thought. If you can't tell where the two lines are, it's basically the right side of her body (from her right foot to her shoulder) and her arms.
I had difficulty with the arms, but it ended up being cluttered once more because of all that's going on. I also wasn't too careful with the wing placement this time around, but the wings look better than the last.
This is all building up to the ultimate portrait I want of Annarias (and Victoria) fighting a dragon. I need to practice more Dragon sketching though.

So egotistical.

Basically, I just wanted to sketch Miku Zatsune (the most unoriginal character name for an online game) because of the PSU contest coming up. I think it fails because well ... I didn't have a ref and did everything from memory. I could have worked more with the contrast on the face. but I think I gave up because of the fact that I didn't want to draw without a ref.
I will be doing more soon though.

Annarias looks tired because she always works hard.
This is a very detailed sketch attempt at a realistic Annarias.
I am still attempting to get the placement right for 3/4 view. I actually found it even more difficult to try getting the skin tones right, but it did help with the shape of the face. On paper, the right side of her face seemed okay, but then it looks weirder when colored.
The drawing itself took about twenty minutes. The coloring was done in about an hour and a half with random messy brushing.

Design ideas for Dallas.
I'm finally back in business, though I have a pretty lame drawing to show. I am, however, in the process of doing two drawings right now.
Anyway, for some odd reason or another, I wanted to start finalizing Dallas' design. The rough pen sketch was my reference since I didn't have the original drawing on me. Basically, all I tried to do was enhance the details on the straps and the buttons. I'm still doing work to his jacket, and will have to figure out something for the rest of his outfit.
But I shouldn't have even done this. Drawing Dallas was kinda a random act, but I will get back to him in a few weeks I suppose.
